Safety Information

The area is used for recreational walking, mountain biking and running. Please be aware of other users in the area, especially children and elderly while running your course. As the area is popular with dog walkers there may be faecal matter from dogs present along the tracks, presenting a possible health hazard to those who come in to contact with it. Please take care, especially if you have young children with you.

Ticks may be present in the area, please check yourself after the event. Please also be sure to report to Download by Course Closing Time.

First aid is at assembly.

All Competitors take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. Runners should choose a course that matches their experience and fitness

Registration forms will be available on the day, however, they can be downloaded via the link on the left hand side of our home page.

You must report to download after your run by course closing time at 13:00, even if you do not complete the course.

Start and Finish Information

Schools League Info

Anyone attending School in Moray or Nairn is automatically entered in to the Schools League competitIon. Remember to give the name of your school on your entry form. For those who have just moved up to the Academy remember that you can opt to score points for your old primary school until the end of the year. If you want your run to count for your new school please tell the entry team to change it on the computer. The data base will default to showing the school you've run for in previous events this year. The best 4 competitors from each school count for the teams.

Schools League competitors can run on any course. See the 'Leagues' menu for full schools competition information.

Please register as an individual, but you're welcome to run with a friend and help each other out as you go. For groups of 3 or more running together, only 2 individual times wil count for your school team score. This is to make it fair for the majority of more experienced juniors who do the course on their own or as pairs. It's the best 4 times that count for the Schools League - you can see the full rules and information HERE.

Press and Photography

Previews and post-event reports for some of our events appear in the local press. We often take photos at events that may be used in the press or on social media, but will not name anyone under 18 without parental consent.

Click here to complete a survey to help us gauge map numbers.  This neither guarantees a map for you nor obliges you to come...but it does really help us plan- thank you: THE ENTRY SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED. We hve primted maps based on notified entries and hope to have enough to cater for the usual level of entry on the day.

Information for parents "shadowing" junior runners

Adults shadowing juniors only need pay for the junior entry. Please allow your son/daughter to do most of the navigation themselves. If you are doing all the navigation for them (ie they're chasing you round the course), please let us know at registration so we can note you down as "non competitive" or register you as an adult.

We encourage adult "shadowers" to help out if you see your children going obviously wrong or getting stuck, but please wait for them to ask you for help before stepping in - let them try to work it out themselves first. That's all part of the learning process and helps build their self-confidence. It's good to get disorientated and learn what to do about it with the reassurance of a parent nearby - it prepares then for when they start doing courses on their own. This also makes it fair for the children that do the course all by themselves. Thank you.
